Moving Along

Well, suprisingly things are coming along. Theres some actual work happening in the background on the site development. I may actually get something done this year! (seriously, this year!) Although it does get bogged down a bit around work.

Which is coincidentally going better than it was and has started to keep me busy, a vast improvement on the last couple of weeks. Its looking like I may even see some travels over the course of the summer for it (poor Syracuse, you were almost safe ;) ).

However, I digress, suffice to say, things doing, moving along, progress happening

That is all.

What on earth?

Well, its an odd one (again), no sooner do I upload some template changes, nothing in the view code or models bar turning on FreeComments so I can do some testing with them than the site breaks. Nothing most people should see unless they try one fatal move, logging in. All of a sudden, without touching any of the session code a key is missing, missing presumed, well I don't really know.

Its the moments like this that remind me why I really should use a seperate test site. Suffice to say next job rather than finishing off tweaking up FreeComments for my purposes is now to fix that instead. Joy.

IE Strangeness abound

Well, I found an interesting little problem today. I pulled the site up using IE6 (sunday is the day of lazyness...) and for reasons not yet known the openid login didn't work. Well, more precisely it threw an unhandled exeption trying to figure out where the user was supposed to be redirected to after being logged in.

This is made slightly more odd by the fact in Firefox it works, perfectly. Should make for a decent investigation once I finish off the new site templates (I just love trying to figure out colour schemes, almost like bullets to the brain) and the oh so important comments system thats still only half bodged.

Ah well, at least I'm busy I suppose.

Whats here so far...

Well, after a bit of initial bug squishing (I'm doing most of my testing on this online version since I'm feeling too lazy to mirror it at home as well) things seem steady.

Now to let the world in on whats here. Right now, not a lot. I can post items, you can log in using OpenID, it should even create a new site account for you (will test that when I get a guinea pig to hand) off the bat. Next on the "To Do" list is installing comments support. This is using a modified FreeComments app and if I get around to it Akismet integration.

Not really that much more to say right now, especially since you can't say anything back yet should you be reading ;).
